With no show (except for a private event) this week, I wanted to review our two events last weekend and thank all those who came, supported, danced and partied with us.
On Friday, the weather for the Dogwood Festival was spectacular and Jessica took our Nikon and got some great shots of the band on the big stage.
This is the third year for Pet Monkey at the Dogwood Festival in Orleans and every year gets better. With the rides, booths of crafts and lots of great foodie options, it was THE place to be in Orange County for those of all ages. Our stage was next to some nice folks making kettle corn and it was hard at times to concentrate on the music with the smell of fresh popped corn in the air! We have to bring out all of our sound artillery to play a stage this size but it was well worth it.
The next night on Saturday, we dolled up for a Derby Party fundraiser at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Franklin We played this event last year as well and the St. Rose gang is a lot of fun to work with and play for. The Mint Julep beverages were strong, sweet and smooth, Richard Goss of Richard’s Kitchen made some amazing appetizers, Ritter’s provided some grade A custard and Pet Monkey added some rockin’ and dancable tunes. I think every song we played had a plenty of dancers but before long, it was time to say goodbye, tear down and go. With the auctions, games and and other avenues of revenue, we hope we helped raise some significant funds for a great school.
Enjoy this beautiful May and look for us in your town or a town near you soon!
