During the holiday season, Pet Monkey has the opportunity to play for both public and private events and, once again this year, we did both.
For the third straight year, we played for the Holiday Party for employees of Our Community Bank. Guitarist Tyler’s mom Tammy is employed with this institution and has treated us like family in feeding us and having us play. This year, as the above picture attests, we convinced her to join us on stage for a couple songs and she sang beautifully. Her voice on Patsy Cline’s ‘Crazy’ was the highlight of the evening.
We next got to play for a new crowd and venue at Junction 37, a bar and grill located between Bedford and Bloomington. We had a packed house that was a mix of die hard Pet Monkey fans and Junction 37 regulars. The stage was big and we had our friend Bruce Peyton bring out is ‘heavy artillery’ PA system. We met some new friends and fans as the night wore on and, when the final note had been played, it had been a groovin’ show. The staff at Junction 37 and Pet Monkey are setting up a return engagement early in 2014. Keep checking our webpage for updated info.
We have a few private parties and few shows already set up for next year, but want to highlight a new venue for Pet Monkey: Shorty’s Den in Bedford. We’ll be doing a 9:00 – 1:00 show on March 29th. We hope to get all our Bedford area friends and family out an hope they will spread the word about the impending Pet Monkey invasion!
From our Pet Monkey hearts: Be it Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or Festivus (for the rest of us), we wish you and yours a grand celebration with all your loved ones and look forward to many reunions with you in 2014!
Peace (and love) be with you,
Scott / your blogging Pet Monkey
